School started yesterday, bus came earlier than expected, and photos didn't happen quite like we (I) imagined...
and when I pulled out the phone to snap a pic, it was (obviously) "mom.....(sigh, groan) really. do we always have to take a picture?" At least that's certainly what he communicated if not in those words.
Today, we were more prepared, but he was just way too excited and ready to go to really stop for a second try at the photo op
I am already thinking I'm going to have to create a strategy for that first day photo when he starts kindergarten!
His beloved teacher, Cate, sent me a note about his first day yesterday:
"I know we are meeting soon to talk more about Timothy for his IEP meeting, but I wanted to quickly mention how fun it was to get to see all the amazing progress he has made over the summer! He was talking up a storm today and I was so impressed with how clear the majority of his words were. The most clear was “MOM” which he shouted at circle when I asked what his favorite thing he did today was.
It was also so exciting to see some of his academic progress! I was starting to test some of his skills for his IEP and was blown away! He knows all his letters, was telling me the names of a ton of shapes and was starting to make some predictions in books by pointing to the pictures. GO TIM!
And Simon and Markus were so happy to see him again! They are the cutest and had a total ball playing together. So great to have him back!"
LOVED getting the kind note from his teacher. He does blow people away with his knowledge and abilitiy (he's known all his letters for a year now!). AND felt great to know that I'm still his favorite part of the day!
