It is high time our main floor rooms have doorknob replacements as some of the doors have no knobs currently since more than one stopped functioning properly. Yep, try turning the handle and it not turning and requiring tools and a lot of elbow grease to get the door open again (and the old handle removed). As Troy is coming back this week (hooray! our cousin and contractor) and we need his expertise to fit new knobs and the works on old doors (it's more complicated than it sounds) - I was on the search for our new knobs. We really like the depth of polished nickel of our bathroom fixtures, so I decided to stick with that if possible for the knobs. I found this ideal knob at a builder's supply shop
but they couldn't find it anywhere in the maker's catalogue. Drat. So they sent me home with the catalog and I searched the web and found the closest thing they make, which arrived today
I do like them! I opted for a square rather than the fancier shape behind the knob, and the knob doesn't feel quite as hearty as the one in the store display, but I like it! Can't wait to have working knobs on the doors again!!
