I love grocery stores with carts for kids. And at this point, I'm talking the kind kids can push, because they're their size. Of course, the grocery carts you can strap your kids into are great too! That is, if you can get them strapped in and have them stay put. But that's another story. So, if you're ok with allowing a child a bit of freedom AND responsibility - and you have only a few things to pick up - a store with little carts is IDEAL. After picking up V from a birthday party miles and miles and miles to the East of us, we had to pop into a shop to pick up a few necessities. LOVED seeing the little cart available and immediately gave T an assignment. This kind of freedom does mean an extra item or two might get plopped into the little cart, but in this case, it was only one stray banana. Whew! I can live with that!
