Yesterday, as we were driving in the car after picking up T from his bus, I said "T___ this is your last week of school this year!" From the back seat, he gave me two fingers. "You're right! You have 2 more days of school!" I wasn't being quite precise enough, evidently. And he surprised me with his alacrity. What a smartie!
And yes, the school year has wound down. Here's his preschool graduation pic (they did it for everyone even though many of the kids are coming back for another year)
and his teacher who he ADORES.
As we walked out of school to the car, he said "again" - expressing that he wanted to go back to school again. Happily, there is still tomorrow! Hooray.
And as for my dearest V, well today WAS the last day for her this year! Woohoo! She has been planning (for months) to make goodie bags for her classmates. Last night, I realized I had totally failed in that regard (I didn't even have any cello bags to quickly take care of the task). And although she never quite made all the loom bracelets or chose her hand-me-down little toys to add to them, we did have the treats we'd been saving. (Yes, these are goodies she received in the post from a very good auntie and saved just for the special occassion. THANKS C!) So, today, off she went, treats in hand, to give her classmates and teachers a sweet little send-off.
Along with the remaining goodies, she brought home her final masterpiece. Her class got to create art with whatever supplies were left in the classroom and I love her use of metallic paint, and all the rest of the fun stuff she added to her piece. Well done!
